Community Programs & Everyday Care
At Shanti Sewa Griha, we believe healing requires more than medicine. It requires community, wholesome nutrition, creative expression, and economic dignity.
Free Healthcare, Clinic & Mobile Health Camps
Unconditional, cost-free medical care for anyone in need.
Our outpatient clinic at Tilganga provides daily doctor consultations, leprosy diagnostics, wound dressing rooms, dental therapy, physiotherapy, and an on-site laboratory. Because leprosy can lead to nerve damage, limb loss, and chronic ulcers, our nursing team provides meticulous daily care.
Through our mobile health camps, Shanti medical teams travel into high mountain villages in Sindhupalchok and other districts, bringing dental and general check-ups to isolated communities who would otherwise have no access to medical care.

Rehabilitation & Craft Workshops
Turning social exclusion into recognized master artisanship.
For people who have lost fingers to leprosy or who live with physical disabilities, finding open employment in Nepal is nearly impossible. Shanti provides safe, dignified training and employment across eight craft disciplines.
Every artisan receives a living wage, free meals, healthcare, and housing. The goods created are sold internationally to support the community's operating costs.

Biodynamic Farming & The Life Tree Project
Healthy organic food as medicine for body and soul.
On our certified organic farms in Sundarijal, we cultivate fresh vegetables, grain, medicinal herbs, and manage a dairy herd. This chemical-free produce supplies Shanti’s community kitchen, ensuring patients with compromised immune systems receive wholesome, nutrient-rich meals every day.
Under The Life Tree Project, our farmers have planted more than 15,000 fruit and nut trees across barren slopes. This prevents disastrous landslides during monsoon rains while generating future harvests.

Daycare, Kindergarten & Primary Education
Empowering children to break free from generational stigma.
Children born to parents with leprosy or extreme poverty often face harsh discrimination in standard schools. At Shanti's on-site school and kindergarten, over 100 children learn in a warm, encouraging environment that includes daily hot meals, uniforms, books, and loving supervision.
Graduates of our school have gone on to complete university degrees in engineering, medicine, and business, returning to support their families and the Shanti community.

Zero-Waste Circularity & Eco-Briquettes
Pioneering practical ecological solutions since 1998.
Shanti proves that sustainable living and social care go hand-in-hand. In our briquette workshop, shredded scrap paper, sawdust, and agricultural residues are pressed into clean-burning fuel briquettes, replacing expensive firewood and fossil gas.
Rainwater harvesting, ceramic water filtration stations, and rooftop solar thermal systems supply clean, safe drinking water and hot showers for our residents year-round.
